I’ve been using my Foreo Luna 2 for Men for almost 2 years now. It still remains a firm favourite in my skincare routine, and if you keep reading you’ll find out why.

When I tried the Luna 2 for Men, I instantly loved it. I think the design of the Foreo Luna 2 is definitely easier on the eye than some of the other brushes on the market. I was genuinely excited to use it for the first time. At £169 it’s definitely an investment, but your skin is something you should treat well.

Why would you bother using a facial-cleaning brush?

Well, when washing your face with your hands, you’re actually transferring bacteria and oil between your fingertips and face. It means you’ll never be able to get truly clean skin. I was definitely sceptical by this claim, but I instantly felt the difference when I used my Luna 2 for the first time!

The Foreo Luna 2 for Men is advertised as being a 3-in-1 facial-cleansing, pre-shaving and anti-aging device. Seriously, it does all those things! It works by gently pulsing on the skin – 8,000 pulsations per second to be exact. The front of the device helps to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores of almost 100% of dirt and oil. This also helps in prepping the skin for a smoother and closer shave. The back of the device uses lower-frequency pulsations to help reduce fine lines and wrinkle. Let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger so this side definitely appealed to me.

How do you use the FOREO Luna 2 for Men?

It’s very easy to use. You apply your cleanser to your face and wet the Luna. I use the Foreo Cleanser for Men, which leaves my skin feeling fresh (more details on my Mankind Grooming Box Review). You literally press one button and you’re set! It’s automatic and pauses pulsations every 15 seconds to allow you to move onto another area of your face. The cleansing lasts for a minute in total. You then rinse and dry your face, apply your skincare products and move onto the anti-aging side. You press the button again, turn it over and use the back for another minute! Pop your favourite serum onto your skin, and gently massage it across your face using the Foreo Luna 2. It’s really that simple.

One benefit this product has compared to other cleansing brushes is that you don’t have to change the bristles! It’s made of silicone so it’s actually resistant to bacteria, which ensures it’s as clean as possible! It’s also fully waterproof, so suitable for use in the shower.

Now after using it, you might break out a bit, but this is just your skin purging of all the toxins. After a day or two it’ll get better, and with continued use it’ll happen less frequently. It’s actually a good thing that the Foreo Luna 2 for Men helps remove toxins, because otherwise they’re just sitting under your skin.

After using this product for almost 2 years, I would honestly recommend the Foreo Luna 2 for Men to everyone! Since I first got mine, the Foreo range has expanded to now include the Luna Go and the Luna Mini 2. They even do a toothbrush, which is called the Foreo Issa.

If you’re interested in buying the Foreo Luna 2 for Men, you can get it from Mankind.

There you have it, my review on the Foreo Luna 2 for Men. I would definitely check this out if you are interested in looking after your skin!

EXANTE DIET | REVIEW

I’ve been on ‘Mission Beach Body’ for 2 months and it’s going pretty well! I’ve actually lost 1 stone, can you believe it? My main downfall is that I’m a lazy dieter. I like cooking, but don’t want to spend every evening cooking up a healthy meal when I can be doing something else.

Exante Diet are a godsend in this situation. I was lucky enough to be sent a selection of food and snacks from Exante to aid with my weight loss. You could also use their projects as weight-management. Exante Diet offer total meal-replacement plans that fit with your goals. It’s a flexible programme, so you can choose how you want to tackle it and tailor your approach.

I’m in the process of losing weight and kicking my body into shape and it’s going well. Exante’s diet programme has made this so much easier. All meals are healthy and portion-controlled, plus they’re packed with vitamins and minerals. I’m a vegetarian so was delighted when I discovered the large selection of vegetarian options Exante have to offer. Interested in knowing my thoughts? Read on!

Vegetable Curry

I’m starting with this because it was by far my favourite. To be honest, all of the main meals really impressed me. This curry is mild, creamy and full of vegetables and chicken-style soya pieces. It doesn’t come with any rice or heavy carbs so I was expecting to feel hungry after it. Surprisingly, I wasn’t! It hit the spot and kept me ticking over until dinner.

Chocolate Orange Meal Replacement Bar

This chocolate orange bar is defintiely comparable to any other snack bar i’ve tried. The flavours come through nicely and it has a clean taste. It’s crunchy, gooey and filling. I could imagine keeping some of these on my desk at work to grab as a mid-morning snack. I wasn’t too fond of the aftertaste, but that went in a couple of minutes.

[3/5]

Banana Shake

This was the biggest surprise of the bunch. I was expecting it to taste powdery and weak. Oh, how I was wrong! The banana flavour is subtle, but it definitely reminded me of a banana milkshake. The viscosity was great and the flavour was great. It come together quickly, so I find these work really well as a breakfast replacement.

Gooey Chocolate Pudding

My inner fat man couldn’t wait to try this. I constantly crave sweet treats when i’m dieting so had high expectations for this. It was ooey and gooey, but I wished the chocolate flavour was richer. Can’t have it all though? It definitely filled a void that chocolate would normally fill, so overall i’m happy.

Thai Green Curry Pot

Once again, massively impressed with this. The curry itself has the right amount of spice and a hint of coconut. As this comes with rice, it feels a lot richer and filling that some of the other meals. I’ll definitely be keeping some of these in my cupboard for those lazy nights when I just want to grab something quick. Winner!

If you’re looking to lose weight or manage it, Exante should definitely be a consideration! You can actually buy all your food in a pack and take the thought out of dieting, how great is that? Prices vary as you can pick your choices or have it come preselected, but they’re all really reasonable. All in all, I’ve been really impressed with Exante, primarily the main meals. I liked all of the ones I tried and would buy them again.

The above is a small selection of what i’ve tried, so if you want to know my thoughts on any of the other products, leave me a comment and i’ll get back to you.

Have you tried Exante before? Check out their website and let me know what you think!

Can you believe that it’s only a couple of months until summer? Around this time of year I start thinking about  ‘mission beach body’. Not gonna lie, I’ve packed on some pounds over the winter months. Let’s not even get into my weight gain after travelling, I feel as though even the air in New York is full of calories!

I find dieting quite difficult. I love the taste of food and barely get the motivation to go to the gym. Forza Shake It Slim is a meal replacement shake that you can use either to aid in weight loss or to maintain your current weight. A lot of the time, I always turn to meal replacement shakes to give my body a bit of a head start, a kick up the backside if you will.

So, what did I think of Shake It Slim?

I’m really impressed! In the first week of replacing 2 meals a day with the shakes, I’ve lost 5lbs! I’ve also started to change my eating habits and have started making balanced, healthy lunches. I tried both the strawberry and chocolate flavours, both are equally delicious. Normally I’m not a fan of chocolate shakes as I don’t really like the taste, but I enjoyed this one. They’re rich, creamy and not too sweet. What I like about this is that you can mix it with a spoon! That’s not something I’ve seen with the other brands I’ve tried. Although, I love the look of the Forza shakers so I’ve been using that!

I’ve tried other brands that aim to do a similar thing to Shake It Slim, including Slender Blend and Juice Plus. I’d like to think I can give a valid opinion on this type of product. Shake It Slim has by far the best flavour. It’s also the easiest to prepare as it comes in individual sachets, so no messing around with protein scoops in the morning. It’s the most reasonably priced too, you don’t have to buy it in bulk as they have smaller amounts available to purchase. You can buy the sachets individually.

I know exactly what all you skeptics are going to say! “Shaun, you’re just going to pile on the weight when you start eating normally again.” Now this is the important thing to remember, meal replacement shakes are not a ‘one size fits all’ solution. I look at them as a head start! It gets me into the mentality of eating healthy meals and reducing my large portion size to that of a normal person. This kind of lifestyle change is exactly what you need to maintain a healthy weight. Once I feel like I’m at a weight I’m happy with, I’ll start incorporating more healthy meals back into my diet.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this product and will definitely purchase it again. I’ve seen results fast, which has given me the motivation to keep ‘mission beach body’ going. If you’re interested in trying this, you can get it directly from Forza’s website. You can also pick it up from Boots or Holland & Barrett if you’re too impatient and can’t wait for delivery.

Have you tried Shake It Slim or any other meal replacement?

I was sent Shake It Slim to review, however all opinions are 100% my own. Why would I write about it if I didn’t like it? I also want to stress the importance of making sure your diet is balanced and you keep hydrated. If you have any concerns, please consult a doctor first.

It may come as a surprise to you, but I actually had some Easter eggs left over this year! Can you believe it? Me neither. Rather than eating them all, I wanted to do something a bit different so I decided to use them in a baking recipe. I’ve got two ideas that are tried and true, both equally delicious.

Chocolate Brownies

 Ingredients

  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 75g plain flour
  • 40g cocoa powder
  • 175g dark chocolate (I used an M&S Easter Egg, chopped into chunks.)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C.
  2. Melt your chocolate and butter in a bowl and allow it to cool slightly.
  3. Whisk together your eggs and sugar, then gently fold in the chocolate mixture.
  4. Sift in the flour and cocoa and fold in until just combined.
  5. Pour the mixture into a baking tin, bake for 25-30 minutes.

That’s it, you’re done! If you can, let them cool for a bit before eating them. These brownies are really chocolatey! If you’re not a fan of dark chocolate, you could quite easily replace it with any chocolate of your choice.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

 Ingredients

  • 125g butter
  • 100g light brown sugar
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 225g self-raising flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 200g of chocolate (I used an M&S Easter Egg, chopped into chunks.)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 °C.
  2. Cream butter and sugars. Once it’s fully incorporated, add your egg and vanilla.
  3. Sift in the flour, add your vanilla and chocolate, and then combine.
  4. Roll into balls and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 7-10 minutes.

It’s that easy! This is a flexible recipe. Bake for 7 minutes to have a really doughy cookie or for 10 minutes to get a crispier cookie. I prefer to go for 7 minutes, the cookies are really delicate and, I guarantee, one is not enough.

There you have it, two very easy recipes using left over chocolate! You could use any chocolate you can find, which makes these recipes really adaptable.

Let me know if you try any of these recipes. What’s your favourite thing to bake?
