Ever wanted to try a microdermabrasion facial? I visited Rejuvenate Skin Clinic to get my first one.
As I’m sure you’ll be able to gather by now, I’m a bit of a skincare junkie. Anything that involves looking after my skin, I’m there. Until recently, I actually hadn’t ventured further than the realm of skincare products, into skincare treatments. For the longest time I’d wanted to try microdermabrasion, I’d heard a lot of good things, but something inside me was a bit cautious. I didn’t want to end up with a bright red face!
Thankfully, Rejuvenate Skin Clinic helped remove all my concerns. After speaking with Leena (the Clinic Manager) for a number of weeks, I finally decided to go ahead with the treatment!
Firstly, let’s talk a bit more about Rejuvenate Skin Clinic…
Based in the heart of Manchester, Rejuvenate Skin Clinic offer non-surgical treatments for the skin. From 2012, they’ve been established in the Northern Quarter, providing multiple treatments to target specific concerns. Anything from microdermabrasion to radiofrequency treatments, they’ll be able to help.
From the moment I started talking to them about my treatment, they where nothing but helpful! Every question I had was answered, and eventually I had the right amount of information to go ahead with microdermabrasion.
So what is Microdermabrasion?
Put simply, microdermabrasion is a skin treatment that removes the top layer of your skin. It helps to remove congestion, even out skin tone and exfoliate any dead skin. It also helps to improve the appearance of fine lines, superficial pigmentation and mild acne. I suffer from extremely dry skin, so I’m always looking for something to help make my skincare routine that little bit easier.
Leena mentioned that microdermabrasion is the perfect treatment for anyone looking to venture into the realm of aesthetic skincare for the first time. Generally, the treatment provides you with brighter, clearer looking skin. We all want that, right?
How was the treatment and Rejuvenate Skin Clinic?
It was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever experienced. Relating to skincare, of course. From the minute I walked in, all staff at Rejuvenate Skin Clinic where super friendly and helpful. Leena took me to the treatment room, to have a look at my skin and discuss the benefits of microdermabrasion specifically relating to me. My skin was dry pretty much all over, with congestion around my nose area. Which doesn’t surprise me, because this is where I apply heavier face creams due to dryness around my nose.
The treatment lasted for 45 minutes. During this time, Leena use a diamond tipped vacuum wand to gently exfoliate my skin. It basically sucks your skin gently, whilst an exfoliating pad does its magic on your face. Surprisingly, it wasn’t uncomfortable at all! It was a lot more gentle than I expected, and after the first 10 minutes, I actually found it to be quite relaxing.
After the treatment finished, my face felt instantly smoother. It looked clearer and definitely brighter. My skin also wasn’t red! I’d read online that microdermabrasion causes redness that can last up to 2 days. Luckily for me, this was completely inaccurate and I suffered from no redness at all! I couldn’t have been happier with the results, and it’s definitely something I’d consider getting again.
All-in-all, Rejuvenate Skin Clinic get an incredibly positive review from me. I’m already considering when I should get my next treatment, and I wouldn’t even hesitate about going back to the clinic.
