How To Get Over A Hangover

Or at least look like you have…

As the festive season draws in, you’ll no doubt be spending more time socialising. From family gatherings, to mid-week work parties, it’s time to pop open a bottle of bubbly and have a good time. We’ve all been vitctim to wine flu, but if you’re anything like me, you’re not great at handling it.

I can’t handle a hangover, but over the years I’ve picked up a couple of tips to at least pretend like I can.

Hydrate Before You Sleep

Possibly the most important thing if you want to wake up in the morning without a splitting headache. Before you sleep, drink as much water as you can. I usually force myself to drink a litre, just to make sure I’m fully hydrated. Of course, this means you’ll wake up through the night, but I’ve found that this is better than feeling like death all day.

Under Eye Cream

Even if you’re feeling better, I can guarantee that your eyes will give it away. Any signs of tiredness or dehydration will show under your eyes. Use an eye cream that adds a boost of energy into your skin. It’ll reduce the appearance of under-eye bags, instantly making you look more awake. Murdock London’s Anti-Eye Serum is a great choice, and if you pop this in the fridge the night before, it’ll feel even better when you apply it.

Facial Mists

What better way to look fresh, than feel fresh. I have a cold facial mist on hand throughout the day, and whenever I’m starting to feel a bit dodgy, I mist myself and cool down. It’s simple, effective, and can help brighten your skin too.

Under Eye Concealer

Don’t be afraid of reaching for a concealer in your time of need. It’s okay to wear makeup! I only use concealer, but trust me, it does wonders for hiding a hangover. Pat a small amount across the bottom of your eye and you’ll look fresh in no time. Whatever you do, don’t rub it in. It’ll end up looking streaky, and we don’t want that. Simple, easy and effective.

If you’re suffering from the brown bottle flu this festive season, I’m sure some of the tips above will help. If all else fails, a bit of retail therapy always helps. Check out the range of gifts from Murdock London and your hangover woes will be a thing of the past!
