Every year we celebrate Father’s Day. Which means every year, we have the same struggle of trying to find out Dad’s another gift.

It’s not about the most expensive, or the most fancy gift. I find what my Dad appreciates the most is the gift that actually means something to him. Something I know he’ll like, appreciate or get use out of.

With that in mind, I’ve pulled together what I believe to be the ultimate Father’s Day Gift Guide. It features a selection of products, and hopefully it’ll give you some inspiration!

For the well-groomed Dad…

My Dad is always asking for a new razor – I think he shaves pretty much every week. Wilkinson Sword have an amazing selection of razors that range in price, making it the perfect gift for any Dad that looks after his facial hair. They’re all high quality, help achieve a really close shave, and I can guarantee your Dad will appreciate it.

You can buy the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Groomer for £7.98 from Superdrug.

For every Dad…

Everyone can appreciate the gift of a good scent. Thankfully, Dermot O’Leary has a range of fragrances available at M&S that are classic, fresh and light enough for daily use. I love the smell of the new Earl Grey & Sandalwood, so if you buy this as a gift for your Dad, make sure you don’t end up stealing it for yourself.

The Dermot O’Leary Earl Grey & Sandalwood is £22 from M&S.

For the Dad who likes his baths…

My Dad is a builder, and after a long day he always jumps in a bath. I reckon he does it to get some peace, but it could also be because his job is a bit messy. Give the gift of a Bomb Cosmetics set to him and he’ll definitely appreciate it. Afterall, everyone likes getting shower or bath products!

The Distinguished Gentleman Gift is available from Find Me  Gift for £11.99.

For the sentimental Dad…

You’ll probably agree that not every Dad needs a gift. My Dad is actually incredibly apprecitive of anything we get him, even if it’s just a card. This one from Norma & Dorothy is customisable which means you can put a personal message on it. It takes this simple gift to the next level and really makes it mean something.

You can get this card from Norma & Dorothy for £4.75.

For the techy Dad…

My Dad is always on his phone, his laptop or playing his PS4. If yours is too, why not get him a new phone case? Speck have an incredible new range that are inspired by the colour of the World Cup. They’re high quality, affordable and have simple, inoffensive designs.

The Presidio Grip World Edition iPhone X Case is £29.95 from Speck.

For the lager lover…

My Dad always appreciates a couple bottles of beer, or larger. Why not treat yours to a few if he likes that? Celia are an organic premium lager brand that’s hand crafted in Czech Repblic. They’re a bit different than your typical supermarket brand, which makes this gift a little bit more special.

Celia lager is available on Ocado for £2.29.

For the hard working Dad…

Every Dad will appreciate shower gels. Especially when they’re as luxurious as this selection from Noble Isle. They smell incredible and look equally as great. This is the kind of gift you’ll buy for your Dad, and end up keeping for yourself.

Each Noble Isle Bath & Shower gel is £20 and available here.

For the food loving Dad…

My Dad loves to cook. And he also loves to snack! If your Dad is the same, then this VonShef Cheese Board is the gift for him. It comes with 3 cheese knives and pulls out to become a full circle board. It’s stylish, practical and will also make a great centre piece for any social gathering.

The VonShef Cheese Board is available from Domu for £17.99.

For the Dad who has everything…

Some Dad’s are incredibly difficult to buy for, I know mine can be at times. When that’s the case, you can never go wrong with a pair of socks. This gift from Thortful in actually has socks inside a card, which is just a little bit nicer. They also have a selection of cards that have chocolate inside too – perfect!

Cards from Thortful range in price so check them out here.

For the chocolate loving Dad…

Who doesn’t love chocolate? I know my Dad does. This is a chocolate pizza from the Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company. It’s been so hard not to eat this while it’s been in my flat before giving it to my Dad. It’s fun, novelty gift that is perfect for any Dad with a sweet tooth.

This chocolate pizza is available from Find Me A Gift for £19.99.

For the Dad who likes his me-time…

Although my Dad is really social, he also loves his space. (Don’t we all?) If yours is the same, why not give him a little face mask from Bandito? They’re affordable, and created specifically for men. I’ve used them before and love them, so it’s definitely worth a shot.

All masks from MasqueBar are available from ASOS and vary in price.

For the Dad who likes his liquor…

My Dad loves whiskey, so a bottle is a gift that always goes down well. If it’s something yours drinks often, it might be worth trying something a bit more premium, like this bottle of The Glenlivet Code. It’s a pricey bottle, so might not be for everyone, but if you want to splash out a bit, it’s worth it.

To find out more about this premium whiskey from The Glenlivet, visit their website.

For the coffee lover…

My Dad loves coffee. Both my parents do to be fair. I bought them a coffee machine for Christmas and they seriously love it. This makes coffee the perfect gift and if your Dad drinks coffee, you can’t go wrong with something from Percol or Dualit. Whether it’s instant, or for a machine, they’ll appreciate it. Both brands are fairtrade too, which is awesome!

You can buy Percol for £2.99 and Dualit Coffee Capsules for £12.

There you have it – the Ultimate Father’s Day Gift Guide! I know my Dad would love every single product I’ve mentioned in here, and hopefully you’ll find some inspiration from my selection.

Make sure you follow me on Instagram for more inspiration as the year goes on.

Products in this guide where sent for this gift guide. I hand picked everything based on what I know my Dad will love, and all views are 100% my own.

Before I even get into this blog post, can we just take a minute to appreciate how stunning the new Murdock London pacakging is? I’m obsessed!

Now onto the article…

Murdock London is a mens grooming brand who’s range of products are actually designed by barbers. All their products are made in England, and designed specifcally for the needs of men.

Murdock is a brand that is loved by many men, and has been for so many years. All products are designed by barbers, which takes on board the feedback of customers to create a range that appeals specifically to men.

I’ve been trying a couple of haircare products and thought I’d let you in on my thoughts…

Quince & Oakmoss Shampoo and Conditioner

The first step in a good haircare routine is getting a shampoo and conditioner, but the first step in a great haircare routine is getting a Murdock shampoo and conditioner.

The shampoo is sulphate free and leaves my hair feeling incredibly clean. It doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry though, which is a bonus. When this is followed with the conditioner, you’re on to a winner. The conditioner is packed full of essential oils and proteins that help to leave your hair feeling soft and smooth – ready to be styled! Plus, they smell so nice!

You can get the shampoo for £12 and the conditioner is £14.

Sea Salt Spray

The next step in your haircare routine should be a pre styler. Typically I use a heat protector, but on the days when I’m after a bit more volume and texture, I’ll reach for a sea salt spray.

This product from Murdock goes in damp hair, and helps to add texture and volume. The sea salt spray gives a matte finish and is perfect for that fresh-outta-bed look. You can use it by itself, but I find it’s better when I follow it with a styling product. Typically because my hair can get a bit wild otherwise.

The sea salt spray is available for only £24.

Matt Mud and Texture Paste

How can you possibly choose between these two products? Easy – don’t! Both the Matt Mud and Texture Paste are incredible hair styling products that both offer a different finish.

The Matt Mud gives a strong finish, with no shine. I tend to use it when I want to get a ‘bed head’ look and don’t want to look like I have any product in my hair. It’s got a really clean scent too, which I love.

The Texture Paste has a completely different finish and has a lighter hold. It has a slight shine, which looks incredibly natural. I like to think of this product as ‘your hair, but better’, because it leaves your hair looking styled, but not overly defined. This is probably my go to product.

Both the Matt Mud and Texture Paste are £14 each.

Overall the Murdock London haircare range is a strong contendor. I’m always on the lookout for a styling range that helps tame my crazy curly hair, but doesn’t leave it looking weighed down, and Murdock is definitely up there with my favourites.

Make sure you head over to Murdock and check out the full range. Alongside haircare products, they’ve also got a collection of skincare, beard and fragrance. Check it out here and let me know in the comments what you think.

I was sent products in this post for review, however all opinions are 100% my own.

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m terrible at applying sunscreen. For some reason, the texture just doesn’t agree with my skin and I hate how oily most of them feel.

In my search for new sunscreen for Barcelona back in April, COOLA got in touch to see if I would like to try a couple of products from their range. I know the importance of an SPF, and whenever I’m abroad, I’ll make sure I’m wearing one on my face and body. I’m always willing to give a new sunscreen a go, and COOLA seemed like that type of brand I’d happily have in my collection.

COOLA have a collection of organic sunscreen products tht have full-spectrum coverage and are packed full of ingredients that are great for your skin. They’re a Californian skincare brand that support an active lifestlye with a focus on wellness.

All of their products are cruelty free and they use only the best, natual ingredients that help protect and nourish your skin. COOLA pack their sunscreen full of plant based sun protectors, which means they can use less chemical suncreens that can potentially irritate the skin.

I’ve been trying some products from the range for over a month now, and here are my thoughts!

COOLA Classic Sport SPF 50 White Tea

The COOLA Classic Sport SPF 50 is perfect for anyone who has an active lifestlye that means they spend a lot of time outdoors. It’s specficially designed for the face, and helps to add moisture back into the skin. The white tea scent reminds me of a summer garden, which sounds amazing, but isn’t really for me. When the product is initally applied, it leaves a slight sheen on the skin but it doesn’t leave a white film that most sunscreens do. For someone with drier skin like me, this would be perfect when you’re on holiday or in the sun for a long time.

COOLA Spray SPF 30 Piña Colada

The Pina Colada SPF 30 is probably my favourite product from the range. It helps to strengthen the skin barrier, and because it’s rich in antioxidants, it helps to nourish the skin and prevent any further damage. It’s got a lovely summer scent and even though it’s Pina Colada, I can mainly smell the coconut which I’m a total fan of. This product is incredibly light on the skin, instantly sinks in and feels dry to the touch. I would 100% recommend this product if you’re going abroad, or even if you’re spending time in the sun in the UK.

COOLA Mineral Sport SPF 30 Citrus Mimosa

This product has my favourite scent. The COOLA Mineral Sport Citrus Mimosa has a lovely orange scent that is super fresh and clean. As with all the other products, this one is packed full of vitamins and minerals that protect your skin. This product has a more classic sunscreen feel, and I find I can notice it on my skin when I apply it. After a couple of minutes, it does sink in to the skin, but I found it left a pale sheen on my skin which is to be expected with a physical sunscreen barrier.

I really think COOLA have managed to create a sunscreen product that I love. The Spray SPF is one of my absolute favourites, and I’ve already got it in my suitcase ready to take to Cyprus in July.

Have you tried anything from COOLA before? The whole range is available on Space NK. Let me know what you think in the comments.

I was sent products mentioned in this post for review. However all opinions are my own.

*This post contains a paid for advertorial from L’Occitane, however all opinions are my own.

It’s time to put away your winter wardrobe and bring your summer attire out of hibernation – summer is here! (Well, kind of.) We all love being able to put on a pair of shorts and feel the sun against our skin, but what we might not think about is the changes we need to make to our grooming routine. From men’s perfume to a swanky shower gel, it’s important to update your regieme.

With that in mind, I’ve pulled together a couple of the products that I either switch in my summer routine, or new products I add completely to ensure I’m getting the most out of the weather.

First things first, fragrance!

When the months get warmer, you want to put away your deep winter fragrances and switch them out for light summer scents. Men’s perfume has a huge impact on your mood, and there’s nothing more uplifting than a fresh fragrance. Not to mention the obvious either, but when the weather is warmer, you’re going to sweat more. Wearing a clean scent will help mask any odour, which is great for you and anyone who’s around you.

I love the Cedrat scent from L’Occitane. It’s the perfect transition fragrance that layers a vibrant citrus scent ontop of a woody base. It’s the kind of scent that just smells clean and it’s definitely going to be a staple in my routine this summer.

Secondly, switch out your shower gel

I like switching up my shower gel for the exact same reason why I switch up my fragrance. In summer, you’ll sweat more, which is why I think it’s super important to have a shower gel that leaves you feeling fresh and squeeky clean. Having one with a citrus or peppermint fragrance will give a zingy or cooling sensation on the skin, which feels incredible after a day in the sun. You might also want to invest in a soothing and calming shower gel that’s packed full of aloe vera, for the days when you spend too much time outside.

I’m currently using a mixture of the L’Occitane Cedrat shower gel and the Rituals of Hammam body scrub. I use the shower gel in the morning to wake me up, and the scrub at night to remove any excess oil and sweat. This combination works amazingly for my skin.

Up your SPF game

An SPF is essential all year round, but it’s even more important during summer. It’ll help protect your skin against both UVA and UVB rays, which is essential during the warmer months. Since you’ll most likely be spending more time outside, an SPF will help protect your skin against the sun, pollution and other environmental aggressors, which make it’s incredibly important. Try to find one that is non-comedogenic so that it doesn’t block your pores, and it’ll keep your skin in tip-top condition.

I personally switch between a couple including Kiehls and La Roche-Posay. Depending on how my skin is, I’ll either layer it above my daily moisturiser or replace it entirely. It’s important to try one that works for you, so try a couple out and see how you feel.

The above 3 are some of the things I like to switch out the most during summer, but you should change whatever feels right for you. You might have a heavier moisturiser during winter, which means you’ll need something a bit lighter. You might also consider moving to an oil reducing cleanser depending on how your skin is reacting to the heat.

Don’t be afraid to try something new during summer, it’s the perfect time to give your routine an overhaul. If you have any questions, drop me a message on Instagram and I’ll be sure to get back to you.

What are your favourite summer products? Let me know in the comments below.

Founded by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, this apothecary skincare brand has been on the scene since they first opened their doors in 2004. Even though I’ve known of MALIN+GOETZ for the longest time, I’d never gotten around to trying them out.

That is until recently! Thankfully, I’ve managed to get my hands on a couple of products from the range and give them a whirl. I’ve been trying out the Resurfacing Glycolic Pads and the Vitamin E Face Moisturiser for almost a month now, and they’re definitely worth the hype.

malin and goetz moisturiser and pads

But first, who are MALIN+GOETZ?

As I’ve already mention, the brand was founded by Matthew and Andrew over 10 years ago. They have a brand ethos that focuses on creating simple and effective skincare products that are suitable for even sensitive skin. They combine trusted natural ingredients with some scientific innovation to create formulas that really do work.

I’m a sucker for a brand with some science behind it, so that really speaks to me. As the years have gone on, and the brand has increased in popularity, they’ve began to win more and more awards.

MALIN+GOETZ Resurfacing Glycolic Pads

The name sounds pretty sciency, right? Glycolic Acid is one of those skincare ingredients that is in a lot of products, because it’s super effective and is known to work. The resurfacing glycolic pads from MALIN+GOETZ help to remove dead skin, brighten the complexion and reduce the size of your pores.

Unlike other pads I’ve tried before, it’s recommended that after smoothing a pad across your face, you leave the product to sit on your skin for 20 minutes before washing off. You can use them overnight after you’ve built up a tolerance, but this just highlights how rich this product is.

I found that when I first applied the product, it felt warm on my skin. Not uncomfortable, but I could definitely tell the product was active. After leaving it on for 20 minutes, I rinsed my face and could instantly feel the difference. My skin texture felt less rough, and my face just generally felt softer.

MALIN+GOETZ Vitamin E Moisturiser

Similarly to the resurfacing glycolic pads, the MALIN+GOETZ Vitamin E Moistursier features even more well-known ingredients. Packed full of Vitamin E, Chamomile and Panthenol, this moisturiser helps to soothe the skin and gently hydrate.

When I first applied it, I wasn’t blown away by the texture. It felt drier than other moisturisers I’ve used, which I guess was a bit of a shock. Using the word dry to describe a wet liquid is probably quite strange, but I mean it doesn’t feel oily and leaves a matte feeling on the skin.

After I got used to the texture, I’m seriously in love. My skin doesn’t look greasy throughout the day, yet I’m left with a natural glow. I can really see how this product would be suitable for people with all skin types, because it’s hydrating but doesn’t leave any residue on your skin. It’s possibly the first moisturiser I’ve ever tried that has this texture, so I’m really impressed.

Is this the skincare range your skin has been craving?

I’m dissapointed in myself for not trying out MALIN+GOETZ sooner. I think it’s a skincare range that can seriously be used by anyone, and they have a philisophy that menas the range is simple.

They recommend a cleanser and moisturiser for your skin type or concern, and then provide targeted treatements for any specific issues. Really simple, and really effective. I’d 100% recommend you try out this range if you’re on the lookout for some new products.

You can discover more from MALIN+GOETZ here. Have you tried anything from the range before? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I was sent the products for review. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
