Want to visit Moscow but want more information? My travel guide should give you some ideas.

Moscow, the capital and most popular city of Russia. It’s actually one of the largest cities in the world, and with that, comes a wide area to explore. I stayed in Moscow for a week and wanted to share the 3 things I think everyone must do or see when visiting Moscow.

What Makes Moscow Special?

When I visited Moscow, I had low expecations. It was a stepping stone on my trip, and the first place I visited after leaving the UK. Boy, was I surprised. Moscow is packed full of rich, historic architecture. If you’re a history buff like me, you’ll be in your element in this Russian city. Around every corner, there’s some form of historic landmark, which are not only beautiful to look at, but have some interesting stories behind them.

What three things must you do?

1. Visit The Red Square and Saint Basil’s Cathedral

Quite possibly the heart of the city, The Red Square is host to a number of popular landmarks. The most prominent being Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Whilst here you can also visit GUM, a shopping centre packed full of luxury boutiques. From there, you can nip into a cafe for lunch, then walk across the square to Lenin’s Mausoleum. In between all the adventure, make sure you stop and take pictures. I spent so much time wandering around The Red Square and viewing it’s landmarks, and you should too.

2. Laze Around In Gorky Park

You would never expect a park this beautiful to be hidden away inside a city. The park was designed by a world-famous, avant-garde architect, Konstantin Melnikov. From row boats, to roller skating, Gorky Park is packed full of activities. It was nice to actually take a moment to unwind in the park, and switch off from the outside world. Although, all the trees wreaked havoc on my hayfever, but that’s something you have to deal with.

3. Explore The Moscow Kremlin

The Moscow Kremlin is a fortified complex that overlooks the Moskva River. Insdie the grounds you’ll stumble across five palaces and four cathedrals, along with the Kremlin walls and Kremlin towers. I generally have no idea how they’ve managed to get so many beautiful buildings in once place, but they have! The walls are over 500 years old, and perfectly house the architecutre inside. Ivan the Great Bell Tower and the Dormition Cathedral were two of my favourite buildings, but when you’re standing in between them all, it’s seriously difficult to choose.

Moscow is packed with so much history and architecture, it’s difficult to take it all in. What I’ve mentioned above would be the essential things you have to do, but if you have more time, there’s definitely a lot more to explore.

If you want to know anything else about my thoughts on Moscow, make sure you tweet me.

Winter is here! Well, almost. It doesn’t officially begin until December 21st, but doesn’t it feel like a permenant December here in England?

Looking after your skin during colder months is super important. The weather dries out your face, and the cold winds can leave your skin irritated. My 6 skincare essentials for men will tick off all the boxes and leave your skin nourised and refreshed.

winter skincare essentials for men

Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser

The foundation of any skincare routine is a cleanser. Cleansers aim to remove any excess dirt of oil from your skin, and the Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser doesn’t dissapoint. It’s gentle formula eliminates impurities without stripping your skin. This is particularly important in winter, because your skin is naturally irritated due to the cold weather. This cleanser has a cooling combination of ingredients such as Camphor, Peppermint and Eucalyputus which not only soothe the skin, but help brighten and invigorate.

You can get the Omorovicza Moor Cream Cleanser here.

Clinique For Men Face Scrub

Dry skin and cold weather come hand in hand. How do you combat it? With an exfoliator! I’m currently loving the Clinique For Men Face Scrub. The non-abrasive grains help to remove any dead skin or excess oil. Not only that, but it also unblocks pores and refines your complexion. Sounds great, right? I use an exfoliator a couple of times a week, and I wouldn’t advice doing it more than 3 times. You can irritate your skin and breakdown your natural protective barrier, which will wreak havoc on your skin in winter.

ARgENTUM la potion infinie Anti-Age Cream

Ooft, how luxury does that product sound? Having a rich moisturiser is essential during winter. Harsh weather will dry out your skin, which can leave your face red and irritated. This face cream from Argentum will not only hydrate and nourish your skin, but help reduce the signs of ageing and stress too. I know it’s a bit pricey, but if you want to keep your skin in tip-top shape throughout winter, it’s definitely worth investing. Afterall, prevention is better than cure. And that certainly applies to skincare.

You have to try Argentum! Get this face cream here.

Perricone MD Cocoa Moisture Mask

Raise your hand if you’re a guy who uses a face mask… If you didn’t raise your hand, take my advice and add one to your skincare routine, especially the Perricone MD Cocoa Moisture Mask. Not only does it smell like hot chocolate, but it works to restore and smooth your skin. It’s super nourishing, anti-ageing and will firm and tighten your skin. Think of it like a skincare boost. Although it’s suitable all year round, I particularly love it during the colder months. Don’t be alarmed when it changes colour as you apply it. It’s meant to go from off-white to brown as the cocoa-enriched microcapsules burst and nourish your skin.

Rituals The Ritual Of Samurai Hand Lotion

I always have a hand lotion either in my bag, on my desk, or in my bedside table. Why? If you’re like me and you talk with your hands, trust me when I say people will notice if you don’t look after them. The Rituals Of Samurai Hand Lotion has a super masculine smell and doesn’t leave your hands feeling greasy. It absorbs effortlessly into your skin and provides long lasting hydration. This hand lotion is enriched with Organic Bamboo and Sea Minerals to not only hydrate the skin, but protect it too. Winner!

It’s available on Mankind, and you have to try it.

Bulldog Original Lip Balm

If your face feels dry, I can guarantee your lips will too. Whenever I’m choosing a lip balm, I’m a sucker for a natural one with a great smell. The Bulldog Original Lip Balm has lovely texture, it’s barely noticeable on your lips, but it’s pleasant. This lip blam is vegan, which is always a bonus. It’ll leave your lips feeling nourished and protected, even in the most harsh condition. (Don’t go testing this up Mount Everest, but I’m sure it’ll withstand the cold.)

All products listed above were gifted to me, but all views and opinions are my own.

I’ve been using my Foreo Luna 2 for Men for almost 2 years now. It still remains a firm favourite in my skincare routine, and if you keep reading you’ll find out why.

When I tried the Luna 2 for Men, I instantly loved it. I think the design of the Foreo Luna 2 is definitely easier on the eye than some of the other brushes on the market. I was genuinely excited to use it for the first time. At £169 it’s definitely an investment, but your skin is something you should treat well.

Why would you bother using a facial-cleaning brush?

Well, when washing your face with your hands, you’re actually transferring bacteria and oil between your fingertips and face. It means you’ll never be able to get truly clean skin. I was definitely sceptical by this claim, but I instantly felt the difference when I used my Luna 2 for the first time!

The Foreo Luna 2 for Men is advertised as being a 3-in-1 facial-cleansing, pre-shaving and anti-aging device. Seriously, it does all those things! It works by gently pulsing on the skin – 8,000 pulsations per second to be exact. The front of the device helps to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores of almost 100% of dirt and oil. This also helps in prepping the skin for a smoother and closer shave. The back of the device uses lower-frequency pulsations to help reduce fine lines and wrinkle. Let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger so this side definitely appealed to me.

How do you use the FOREO Luna 2 for Men?

It’s very easy to use. You apply your cleanser to your face and wet the Luna. I use the Foreo Cleanser for Men, which leaves my skin feeling fresh (more details on my Mankind Grooming Box Review). You literally press one button and you’re set! It’s automatic and pauses pulsations every 15 seconds to allow you to move onto another area of your face. The cleansing lasts for a minute in total. You then rinse and dry your face, apply your skincare products and move onto the anti-aging side. You press the button again, turn it over and use the back for another minute! Pop your favourite serum onto your skin, and gently massage it across your face using the Foreo Luna 2. It’s really that simple.

One benefit this product has compared to other cleansing brushes is that you don’t have to change the bristles! It’s made of silicone so it’s actually resistant to bacteria, which ensures it’s as clean as possible! It’s also fully waterproof, so suitable for use in the shower.

Now after using it, you might break out a bit, but this is just your skin purging of all the toxins. After a day or two it’ll get better, and with continued use it’ll happen less frequently. It’s actually a good thing that the Foreo Luna 2 for Men helps remove toxins, because otherwise they’re just sitting under your skin.

After using this product for almost 2 years, I would honestly recommend the Foreo Luna 2 for Men to everyone! Since I first got mine, the Foreo range has expanded to now include the Luna Go and the Luna Mini 2. They even do a toothbrush, which is called the Foreo Issa.

If you’re interested in buying the Foreo Luna 2 for Men, you can get it from Mankind.

There you have it, my review on the Foreo Luna 2 for Men. I would definitely check this out if you are interested in looking after your skin!

It’s been a while! 6 months to be exact.

I honestly can’t believe how long it’s since I’ve last blogged. I wish I had a proper excuse, but the sad thing is; I don’t. As you might know, I worked for a company called Mankind. They’re the top online destination for male grooming and I was lucky enough to spend most of my days writing about and planning campaigns around male grooming.

Picture of Manchester from creativetourist.com

2 years ago, it was just a dream that I’d be writing about what I love for a living. And when I set up HisHabits, it was always the goal that I’d make it my career. Luckily, it happened! Now I know you’ll all be wondering why I’m telling you this when you’re probably wondering where I’ve been.

When you’re writing about something all day, that last thing you want to do is write about it when you get home. At least that’s how I felt. I’d been working with the same brands for both work and my blog, and I made it my top priority to focus on my career. Writing two completely different articles on one brand isn’t as easy as it might sound, especially when you put all your effort into making the first one the best.

Quite frankly, I lacked motivation. For over 8 hours a day I’d be doing something relating to male grooming. When I got home, I just wanted to switch off and read a book, play a game, or watch a movie. Anything that didn’t involve skincare or haircare.

What’s happening to HisHabits?

Last month I parted ways with Mankind. All on good terms, of course. I still hold the business close to my heart, it was just time for a change. I’ve traded in for a shorter commute and a city centre role. Do you know how great it is to be able to walk to Wagamamas on your lunch?

It’s only been a month and I’m already getting that urge to write on my blog again. I’ve got tonnes of ideas playing around in my mind about what I’m going to write and when will be best to write it. I finally think I’ve found my spark again. (Famous last words.)

I’m going to try and get this up and running again. So keep your eyes peeled, hopefully you’ll be seeing a lot more from me.

Everyone knows I’m the biggest fan of everything to do with Kiehl’s. Want to know what my skincare essentials are from Kiehl’s are? Keep reading.

Kiehl’s was the first skincare brand I ever bought into. I’ve always suffered with dry skin, and I remember someone recommending I give the brand a go when their new bouqite store opened in Liverpool. We’re talking a good 2 or 3 years ago now. Instantly, I was bought in by the brand, the heritage, and the products. I’ve been hooked ever since.

The products I tried back then are still my firm favourites today. They do everything I need, keep my skin in top shape and are fairly afforadable when it comes to luxury skincare. With all that in mind, here are my 3 skincare essentials from Kiehl’s.

kiehls skincare review

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser

The Ultra Facial Cleanser from Kiehl’s is my go to face wash. It’s enriched with tonnes of great ingredients, including Avocado Oil and Squalane, and is suitable for all skin types. You only need a small amount and it’ll cover your whole face.

Why Do I Love It?

It’s gentle, helps cleanse my skin and leaves it feeling great. The texture is a gel, that doesn’t really foam. However if you pair this with a cleansing device is does lather up slightly. The cleanser doesn’t strip my skin, but leaves it feeling clean which is exactly what you want.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

I genuinely couldn’t live without Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Whenever I switch my face cream out with another brand, I feel like I’m always drawn to this one. It’s sutiable for all skin types, gives 24-hour hydration, and still maintains a lightweight texture.

Why Am I Such A Fan?

This moistursier has properties that help protect your skin against the changes in climate. If you’re from England, you know how temperamental the weather can be so I find this essential. My skin is left feeling smooth, even throughout a long day. If you’re going to try anything from the brand, I’d recommend this!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

If you’ve heard of Kiehl’s before, I’m sure you’ve tried their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. It’s a night time facial oil that has 99.8% natural ingredients. You only need a few drops at night, and your skin will look incredible by the morning.

Does It Live Up To The Hype?

Definitly! It’s by far one of the best skincare saviours out there. Although it’s an oil, it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling on the skin. I put my moisturiser over it as my skin is super dry, however it works great by itself. It’s also got a nice lavendar scent. I’m not usually fond of lavendar, however for some reason, I love it in this oil!

There you have it! My 3 skincare essentials from Kiehl’s. If you’re about Manchester, I’d definitely recommend popping into their store on King Street. Lisa and the team are incredibly friendly and knowledable. If you’re looking for a tailored skincare routine, they’re the team to help you out!

What have you tried from Kiehl’s before? Let me know over on Twitter. Click here to check out the full range from Kiehl’s.
