Who doesn’t love TIGI? When I very first started to invest in haircare back in the day, TIGI was the first brand I ever bought. (I say “back in the day” as if I’m 60. I’m not. I’m 26.)
TIGI Bed Head for Men is a luxury, professional haircare brand that seriously has everything. When you you think they’ve done it all, they come out with something new. Which they did recently with their new grooming range and I couldn’t wait to try it.
I’ve been trying a couple of products from Bed Head for Men, and thought I’d share my full review.
A new addition to the range, Bed Head Balm Down Cooling Aftershave Balm will help to calm and soothe the skin after shaving. Let’s face it, shaving is probably the most irritating thing you can do to your skin, so we can all do with a bit of calming. It sinks straight into the skin, and doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy. I did notice that any reduce pretty much dissapeared straight away.
Smooth Mover is another product from the grooming range by Bed Head. It’s a high performance shaving cream that has an incredibly luxurious texture. It’s thick, but doesn’t clog the skin – so it’s perfect for me! This formua is packed full Peppermit and Jojoba Oil, which help to create a protective film on the skin, ensuring your razor glides easily without nicking too much. I love the feeling of this cream, and it’ll definitely be having a permenant place in my grooming routine.
Whenever I see ‘wax’ on a product, I’m instantly put off. Without meaning to, I assume it’ll make my hair shiny and put it away. Thankfully, the word ‘Matte’ is in the title of the wax, so I gave it a go. And I’m glad I did. This product has a firm hold, but still has a matte finish. I find that it gives a defined look, without making my hair look too styled. I particularly like this as a pre-styler, and apply it to damp hair for some extra texture.
Oooft. A pomade. Quite possibly my least favourite haircare product. I’ve never really known how to use a pomade without looking like I’ve dipped my head in a bucket of grease. However, I read on FeelUnique that you can work this product into damp hair to help tame frizz, so I gave it a go. I’m surprised to say, it’s true! Using a TINY amount in damp hair does help tame frizz. Does it work better than a product designed specifically for that? Probably not. Will I keep using this? Probably in hair emergencies. It’s just not for me.
Last and maybe least, Power Play. Bed Head for Men Power Play is a firm hold gel product, that creates shiny looks with massive support. Whenever I style my hair, I like it to look as natural as possible, and a gel just doesn’t that that for me. Here’s a tip though, whenever I go abroad, I always bring some hair gel with me to apply to damp hair. It helps lock in my curls, and protect against UV rays. I’ll be keeping hold of this for my next trip abroad, because then I know it’ll come in super handy.
All in all, TIGI Bed Head for Men is a solid choice for your haircare routine. They’ll have a product that is suitable for your needs, and I’m pretty confident that you’ll be impressed by it.
